BEERSCHOT AND WILL STILL END THEIR RELATIONSHIP AFTER MUTUAL CONSENT

Beerschot and Will Still have decided to end their relationship after mutual consent. Will Still was a member of Beerschot's coaching staff for the last three seasons, both as assistent coach and, after Hernan Losada's departure in January 2021, as head coach. Still was in charge for 111 official games.

"It is with regret that we have to say goodbye to Will but in the end it was a friendly and logical decision", says Jan Van Winckel. "The last couple of weeks we had talks with every member of our coaching staff in an attempt to keep everyone on board and work together. Unfortunately we didn't find an agreement. We would like to thank Will for his professional work and  engagement. He is a top bloke and an excellent young coach, one of the best in Belgian football. However, even with this departure we leave an option open to work together again in the future."

"Three years ago we started a new chapter with Stijn Vreven as head coach, Hernan Losada as coach of our U21 squad and Will Still as assistent. They all did a great job and contributed to Beerschot's trajectory to Dvision 1A. They can't be thanked enough for that and can each rightfully claim their spot in Beerschot's history books."

Will Still: "I am  no longer coach at Beerschot and look back with pride, satisfaction and a good feeling. With no anger at all. I was given the opportunity to develop as a coach. I learned a lot and was even installed as head coach in January this year; the youngest ever in the Belgian first division. I am and will always be gratedful to Jan Van Winckel and the other members of the board for this. It was a privilege to work together with fantastic people: supporters, media and of course the players, staff, collaborators and the members of the board. Thank you very much and see you soon. I wish Beerschot all the best."

Beerchot started with the preparations for the 2021-2022 season today. With Peter Maes as an experioenced new coach. "We have faith in Peter and his assistents Davy and Stefan", Jan Van Winckel adds. "They will receive all the support of technical manager Sander and our "old" assistents Pieter, Frank and Pat. Peter Maes proved that he is able to enthuse a club with his approach. We are convinced he will do so at Beerschot as well."

Beerschot would like to thank Will Still for his professionalism and relentless effort during the past three years and wish him success and good luck in his further career."
