BEERSCHOT COMMEMORATES "HONORARY KITMAN" JOS VAN HOUT IN "VAK I"

Beerschot's former kitman and our supporters' icon Jos Vanhout will be commemorated this weekend as our club will officially inaugurate "section I" of Stand 3 of the Olympic Stadium as the "Joske Vanhout Stand". This happens on Saturday prior to our home game against Club NXT. Jos's wife Lydia, his daugher and grandchildren will attend the ceremony.

Jos Vanhout was born in 1932, started following Beerschot when he was only eight years old and still remembered Beerschot 7th and last title in 1939. As a fan and later as our kitman he celebrated Beerschot's FA Cup wins in 1971, 1979 and 2005 and shed tears when Beerschot folded in 1999 and 2013. As a loyal follower and respected kitman since the nineties of last century he truly enjoyed our resurrection with KFCO Wilrijk between 2013 and 2021 when Beerschot fought back from the amateur and provincial leagues to Division 1A.

He remained a regular visitor until health problems forced him to retire but he was given the official title of "Honorary Kit Man". In that capacity he died on the 30th of May 2022.
