BEERSCHOT DRAWS WITH CHAMPIONS CLUB BRUGGE

After earlier 5-0 and 5-2 wins against Kontich and Dessel Sport, Beerschot drew 1-1 with league champions Cluub Brugge in their impressive Basecamp in Knokke on Saturday after a very convincing performance. Holzhauser bossed the midfield and Krekovic proved his value on the right wing. After half an hour Ryan Sanusi scored a well deserved opening goal after yet another good combination. Our defense stood firm and denied Club Brugge's strikers Noa Lang and Bas Dost any scoring chances.

After the break Club coach Philippe Clement brought on more regular first team players. The champions put the pressure on, created a couple of chances but had to wait until the last minute to equalise. On the hour Beerschot coach Peter Maes introduced an handful (and more) youngsters who didn't disappoint at all. A very promising third pre season friendly.

Goals: 29' Sanusi 0-1, 88' Okereke 1-1

Beerschot started with Vanhamel, Dom, Radic, Frans, Van den Bergh, Sanusi, Coulibaly, Holzhauser, Sanyang, Krekovic, Suzuki. During the second half Van den Buijs, Eleke, Placca, Masangu, Halaimia, Mukuna, Konstantopoulos, Mboko, Belhadj and Bourabain came on.
