BEERSCHOT LOSES LAST FRIENDLY GAME BY SMALLEST MARGIN

Dessel Sport - Beerschot: 1-0

Not the best of send off games for Beerschot on Saturday night as our Mannekes finished their preparation to the new season with a defeat against First Amateur League Division opposition.

Hardly any goal scoring opportunities in the first half for Beerschot who were the better team but both the combination football and good intentions finished around the box. Mardochee Nzita's shot was the only one on target, with Dessel goalkeeper Geladé saving comfortably. The home team struck on the brink of half time with a shot from Loshi that was deviated past Vanhamel .

More pressure from Beerschot after the break with a free kick from Vaca that missed a bit of power and shots from Baeten and Sebaoui that went over and wide. Fifteen minutes from the end coach Andreas Wieland sent on La Morte, Verlinden and Koshi in an attempt to get a late equaliser but again our forwards lacked the efficiency in the danger zone to score. Thibaud Verlinden had two goals disallowed for questionable off side and in added on time Koshi's low drive was saved on the line by Geladé.

Beerschot played with Vanhamel, Van den Bergh, Matthys, Quirynen, Meisl, Baeten, Vaca, Sanusi, Nzita, Rigo, Sebaoui, Verlinden, Koshi, La Morte, Seydoux
