BEERSCHOT PICKS UP ZAKARIA BAKKALI ON LOAN FROM ANDERLECHT

Late transfer for Beerschot in the dying minutes of the winter mercato, as Zakaria Bakkali,  a 25 year old striker from Anderlecht, joins our club on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Bakkali was just 17 when he made his debut for PSV Eindhoven and impressed right from the start with his speed and technical abilities. He was transferred to Spanish top team Valencia and progressed in the Primera Division.

In 2018 Anderlecht re-signed him but after a promising start injuries marred his progress. The Belgian youth international is now injury free and wants to prove himself again on the highest level. He declined offers from a couple of clubs in the Dutch Eredivisie and opted for a temporary transfer to Beerschot instead.

Head coach Will Still and his staff are ready to welcome him. “We know that Zakaria is a very talented footballer. It is now our and his combined ambition to make this transfer a success.”
