Lake had already been on trial at Beerschot for the past few weeks, where he was given the opportunity to showcase his qualities to the coaching staff. The forward immediately demonstrated his goalscoring ability and managed to convince the club to offer him a contract.
Last season, Lake played for Olympic Charleroi. Despite the difficult season and the Walloon club’s relegation, the Dutch forward managed to score three goals.
Lake is looking forward to his new adventure at the Kiel with great confidence: “Last season, it felt very special to play at the Kiel. The atmosphere and the supporters immediately made an impression on me. I’m now really looking forward to playing for Beerschot this season and having these supporters on my side. I want to continue developing here, work hard for the team and, above all, make an impact with my goals.”
Sporting Director Murat Akin is also pleased with Lake’s arrival: “Toshio has shown over the past few weeks that he has specific qualities that we want to add to our attack. He is goal-oriented, has a good eye for goal and made a strong impression on the coaching staff during his trial. We are convinced that he can continue to develop at Beerschot and showcase his qualities at the Kiel.”
With the arrival of Lake, head coach Mo Messoudi has an additional attacking option at his disposal.
