Beerschot have found that extra goalkeeper they were looking for after the departure of Antoine Lejoly to RFC Liège as Davor Matijas signed a two year contract with an option for two more years. The 22 year old Croatian comes over from our rivals Antwerp.
Matijas is a product from Hajduk Split's Youth Academy, became a member of their second team squad in 2017 and joined Antwerp three years later. He just played the one game for them; the Belgian FA Cup Final against Club Brugge.
"This is a new and important step upwards in my career", Davor said after signing his contract in the Olympic Stadium. "And I am also very happy I can remain in Antwerpen where I have settled over the last couple of years. I am more than ready for this new challenge."
Davor Matijas will join the group training sessions on Tuesday.
