Beerschot – Club Luik: 3-0
Beerschot put in a marvelous and ever so convincing team performance on Sunday afternoon overpowering Club Luik in all aspects of the game. Three-nil the final score was, with Nzita, Michez and Reyners putting their name on the score sheet.
Our Mannekes started the game in overdrive and scored after just three minutes when Reyners played squIre to Nzita who hit the target. His fourth of the season. The visitors tried to crawl back but Matijas denied their efforts. It was Beerschot all the way with neat combination play and quite a few dangerous situations in the Club Luik box. On the half hour Thibaud Verlinden seemed on his way to Beerschot' s second goal when he was sent through the offside trap only to be flagged back by an over zealous linesman. That second goal came on the brink of half time. Reyners found Keita with a subtle touch. The Club Luik goalie saved the first shot but Michez fired in the rebound. When Bustin was sent off with a second yellow card, the visitors surrendered.
Also in the second half Beerschot clearly remained the better team., with a handful of scoring opportunities for Keita and Verlinden, but Debaty kept his cool in the Club Luik goal. Twenty minutes before the end Reyners made it 3-0 from a Verlinden pass thus crowning his Man of the Match performance with yet another well taken goal. Three wins in a row for Beerschot who move up to top position in the table.
