Beerschot have added Mike Van Beijnen to their squad. The Dutch right back signed a contract until the end of the season. He previously playef for FC Barrcelona's second team, then moved to Genclerbirligi in the Turkish first division before returnng to Holland where he was on the payroll at FC Den Bosch, Fortuna Sittard and FC Emmen.
"I played all kinds of football during that period; technical at Barça and powerplay in Turkey. I have learned to adapt quickly and it has made me a better and more experienced footballer", Van Beijnen says. "When Beerschot gave me the opportunity for a trial I accepted gratefully... and it resulted in signing a contract until June of this year. I adapted easily, with the help of Thibaud Verlinden, who I already knew from our team together in Sittard. I can't wait to start my Belgian challenge."
Tevhnical manager Gyorgy Csepregi is happy with his latest acquisition. "Mike will bring more opportunities on our right flank where we only had Simion Michez. He showed on the training pitch he is more than ready to perform. He will have to prove himself in the next couple of months. His evaluation follows in April, when we will decide whether he has established himself."
