At the Pro League's General Meeting Beerschot vice chairman Walter Damen was elected to the Board of Directors. He replaces Ronny Verhelst of KV Kortrijk, who stepped down earlier this year.
"Walter was respectfully chosen as member on the Board by all other clubs", says general manager Frédéric Van den Steen. "It is the first time a Beerschot member gets a seat in the Pro League Board, so we are very proud."
"As a lawyer Walter Damen will prove his added value to Belgian football's governing body", added Beerschot board member Luc Neefs. "He will be striving for an ethical competition where the interest of all clubs will be properly taken care of."
Jan Van Winckel: "Beerschot is stasisfied and proud that our vice chairman will be occupying an important directorship in our country's professioinal football association. For a while already our club has been taken on a constructive role during the Pro League meetings. Therefore we would like to thank the clubs for the trust they gave to Walter to represent them on the board of directors."
After the inclusion of Walter Damen, the Board of Directors of the Pro League now looks like this:
