LIERSE KEMPENZONEN - BEERSCHOT 2 - 3
Good result for Beerschot at Lierse in Friday lunchtime's friendly at the Lisp Stadium. Shankland, Noubissi and Coulibaly scored in a neat and deserved 2-3 win. Lawrence Shankland opened the score after only five minutes when he cleverly put the ball in the far corner after a decent combination on the left wing. But the home team equalised with a deviated free kick from ex-Beerschot player Alex Maes.
Coach Javier Torrente brought on three new strikers in the seond half: Noubissi, Suzuki and Krekovic. Beerschot took control and first Noubissi (after a neat pass from Suzuki) then Coulibaly (from a Krekovic cross) both scored. After that Lierse were the better team and ten minutes from the end Limbombe scored a well deserved goal for Lierse with a brilliant shot in the top corner.
