Beerschot internationals on tour

Holzhauser, Sanyang, Vorogovskiy, Halaimia and Suzuki. No less than 5 Beerschot players will be representing their countries during the next couple of days. Either in friendlies, African and World Cup qualification games and/or Nations League encounters.

Due to Beerschot’s promotion to 1A and our magnificent start of the season, the respective team coaches of Austria, the Gambia, Kazachstan, Algeria and Japan have increased their interest for our stars and selected them again for their upcoming international games. A round up…

Raphael Holzhauser’s first cap last month was big news in both Belgium and Austria. Since then he continued scoring and “assisting”. With 9 goals and 8 decisive passes his record is stupendous. Austrian coach Marcel Koller didn’t hesitate one second to re-call Rapha for the upcoming games on Wednesday (friendly against Luxemburg) and Sunday when they face Northern Ireland in the Nations League. Holzhauser will return to Belgium early next week, which enables him to join his Beerschot’s team mates for the preparation of the Anderlecht home game next weekend.

Also Abdoulie Sanyang gained international status since his transfer to Beerschot. Our quicksilver Gambian striker got his second call up in a row and hopes to be involved in the double Africa Cup qualification games with Gabon on Thursday 12th and Monday 16th November.

With 13 caps since 2019 Yan Vorogovskiy has now become a regular in the Kazachstan national team on the right wing in defense… contrary to his position on the left in Beerschot’s team. Vorogovskiy will certainly feature in Kazachtstan’s Nations League matches against Albania on Sunday 15th and Lithuania on Wednesday 18th November. He will be the last one of our internationals to return to Belgium next week.

Also Reda Halaimia’s international career is back on track. The Algerian team coach selected him in his starting eleven during the last international break against both Mexico and Nigeria. And he is looking forward to play again in the two upcoming Africa Cup qualification games against Zimbabwe, scheduled for Thursday 12th and Monday 16th November.

And last but not least there is Musashi Suzuki. With 5 goals and one assist he had a quick and sensational impact in Beerschot’s team.  It came as no surprise he received a call up from the Japanese national team coach for the double whammy. Our goalgetter will certainly get his minutes in the friendly games against Panama and Mexico. Suzuki has 13 caps at the moment and is looking forward to build on that later this week. The games, on friday and tuesday, will be played in Austria.
