BEERSCHOT SEAL VICTORY IN THE SECOND HALF

RSCA Futures – Beerschot: 1-3

Beerschot started the new season with a nice 1-3 away win at RSCA Futures with late goals from substitutes Verlinden and Cagro. The latter also contributed with an assist from which Kosiah scored.

In a disappointing first half our Mannekes were overpowered by the Anderlecht youngsters who threatened through Monticelli. His first attempt was saved by Matijas; his second went in  when he converted a low cross. One-nil to the home team, also the half time score. Beerschot's only reply came from Michez but his shot lacked power.

After the break Beerschot found their energy but had to wait until coach Wieland brought on Thibaud Verlinden and Welat Cagro. Halfway the second half Matthys sent Verlinden through the home defence, who controlled the ball and put it in the far corner. Beerschot now took control over the game with a strong performance from Cagro. Thanks to his workrate and clever moves we finally clinched victory.

First he set up Kosiah for our second goal, and in extra time he put the ball in the net from five metres for the 1-3 final score.  A perfect start to the new season.
