CONVINCING VICTORY AGAINST SL16

Beerschot – SL16: 2-0

After a dominant performance Beerschot beat the Standard youngsters fair and square, and increased their position at the top of the table to three points.

Beerschot produced some one way traffic football but weren't efficient enough to translate their superiority in goals. Diawara didn't convert the first scoring opportunity in a one on one with the visiting goalkeeper, with Verlinden putting the rebound wide. Also Reyners was denied five minutes later by Epolo. Keeping nine players behind the ball and an enerving amount of time wasting were the visitors' only concerns.

SL16 looked a bit more adenturous at the start of the second half but it was Beerschot who scored the opening goal. Reyners found Diawara whose shot came off the post where Nzita slotted home. A well deserved 1-0. Three minutes later Nzita was put through but the post prevented Beerschot's second goal.  Halfway the second half Reyners doubled the advantage when he reacted well when Epolo saved Verlinden's drive and the ball rebounded into his path. His tenth goal of the season. SL16 were dangerous on just the one occasion but Brrou's ball went wide.
