Beerschot have lost their first friendly game of the season in and against against OH Leuven. The home team scored the only goal of the game on the brink of half time. Coach Andreas Wieland used 22 players during this game.
Matijas, Van den Bergh, Meisl, Quirynen, Koide, Sanusi, Kaissi, De Stobbeleir, Rocha Torres, Degenaers and Osei Bonsu were in the starting line up, were put under pressure but defended well... until the very last minute of the first half.
A completely different team after the break: Lathouwers, Matthys, Kosiah, Verlinden, Thorisson, Koshi, Weymans, Van Himbeeck, Konstantopoulos and our two newcomers Michez and Cagro. With fast combination on the breakaway it were our Mannekes who created the better scoring opportunities , with Thorisson and Verlinden both coming close to an equaliser. The defence looked steady and powerful. Only Holzhauser could threaten with one of his freekicks, but Lathouwers saved brilliantly.
