Beerschot – Club NXT: 4-0

What a great team performance from Beerschot on Friday night that resulted in a well deserved 4-0 victory. Verlinden, Baeten, Thorisson and Koshi were the goalscorers.

Our Mannekes started in overdrive with early chances for Baeten and Seydoux but Maton saved comfortably. The Brugge goalkeeper was well beaten minutes later though when Verlinden tried his luck from just oitside the box and the ball went into the low corner.

It proved to be the start of a period of fast combination football, good attacking moves and a lot of intensity. Thibo Baeten doubled the score from the penlty spot after Cuevas had hit Verlinden on the shin and ref Put pointed to the spot. Just before half time Thorisson saw a dangerous shot go narrowly wide. Club NXT had no answer to Beerschot's power play and were very much second best.

Beerschot had a bit of a breather early in het second half but stroke again on the hour. First Verlinden was denied by Maton but soon after Thorisson scored our third after a clever through ball from Van Himbeeck. Our Mannekes were unstoppable on the night with Baeten, Verlinden and Thorisson threatening and causing havoc in the Brugge defence. Our visitors were dangerous on the break just the once, but Lathouwers saved the low drive from Servais.

It was Koshi who put the icing on the cake late in the game when he pounced and put the ball in the net after a neat assist from Weymans. Four-nil, job done after an impressive team performance.
