For their last pre season game of this campaign Beerschot travelled to Dutch amateur team Eindse Boys in Nederweert, where they faced Fortuna Sittard from the Eredivisie.  It turned out to be an all but "friendly" encounter as the Dutch opted for late and over the top tackling, which resulted in an early injury for Coulibaly who had to be substituted. Also Holzhauser and Van den Bergh got knocks, with the too lenient referee not interfering and waving to play on. Only in the last quarter of an hour Fleming was sent off for slapping Mboko in the face.

Fortuna Sittard started strongly and scored within a quarter of an hour with a low shot in the far corner. Beerschot never really got in their stride, lost the battle in midfield, understandably shunned the duels and hardly created scoring opportunities. Also after the break the Dutch claimed ball possession, with their captain Mats Seuntjens excelling. They way he dummied and outplayed the Beerschot defense and then shot narrowly wide, was astounding. Beerschot equalised in the last minute with a goal from Joren Dom who drove the ball in the top corner from 20 yards. A peach of a goal.

This game completed our pre season schedule as next week Saturday Beerschot start the 2021-2022 season with a home match against Cercle Brugge.

GOALS: 13' Baghdadi 1-0, 89' Dom 1-1
BEERSCHOT started with Vanhamel, Radic, Frans, Van den Bergh, Halaimia, Dom, De Smet, Coulibaly (20' Okyere), Krekovic, Holzhauser, Suzuki. After the break Eleke, Sanyang, Mukuna, Pietermaat, Konstantopoulos, Mboko en Belhadj were brought on.
