Deinze – Beerschot: 4-2

Leader Beerschot lost  their "Match of the Day" against runner-up Deinze on Sunday afternoon. The home team scored twice in the first half but Michez then replied and gave our Mannekes new hope. After the break Dirk Kuyt's team equalised and produced some good football but Deinze proved to be more efficient and sealed a deserved home win.

Beerschot created the first scoring opportunity early on but Michez saw his hot saved by Miras. Deinze took over control of the game and that eventually resulted in two well taken goals. After Van Landschoot was denied by Matijas it was Anne who broke the deadlock with a drive that went in off the post. Minutes later Hendrickx doubled the advantage with a clever action and a good drive. Beerschot looked well beaten at that time but Michez saved our blushes with a goal in injury time.

More drive, grit and belief after the break with dangerous shots from Verlinden and Reyners... and also a brilliant and well deserved equaliser from Cagro, who beat the home goalie with a low shot from a nice combination.  Our Mannekes looked ready for the kill... but it was the home team that regrouped and were lethal on the break with two clever goals. Man of the match Van Landschoot first beat Matijas in the far corner and in time added on Kehrer put the 4-2 final score in the board.
