STRIKER ROBIN SIMOVIC SIGNS CONTRACT

Beerschot signed Robin Simovic with a contract until the end of the season. The 32 year old Swedish striker played more the 300 games in international football and adds more experience to Dirk Kuyt's squad.

Simovic started at Malmö in his home country but made his breakthrough at Helsingborg. In 2016 he moved to Nagoya Grampus and Omija Ardija in Japan and later joined clubs in Italy, Norway, South Korea and back to Sweden.

"I am happy with my move to Beerschot", Robin said after putting pen to paper on Monday afternoon. "I was made very welcome from the beginning and immediately liked the good vibes within this club. It's my aim and ambition to bring experience in this young group of players."

Technical manager Gyorgy Csepregi says: "We didn't hesitate to sign him when he passed his medical tests with flying colours. He is 2 metres tall, good in the air and has the right mentality. On top of that he brings 10 years of international experience into our club; a profile we were missing in our squad so far. He will also be valuable to guide our young players both on and off the field."
